The ROC - At A Glance

The ROC will be the recreational, social and historical centrepiece of the Town of Georgina and a major regional tourist attraction providing opportunities for active and passive recreation, socialization, economic development and celebration that contribute to the health and well being of residents and to pride in this great community.

Conceived with the intent of creating a centralized complex, the ROC incorporates high quality sports facilities, passive recreation and adventure based activities providing four -season, multi-generational opportunities to meet the needs of a growing, diverse and vibrant Georgina. Premier sports facilities will support major tournaments, advance the skills of our amateur athletes and provide opportunities for high level competition, entertainment and economic development. Unique "adventure based" facilities to inspire youth include the tube and terrain park, ropes course, climbing wall and cycling activities such as a BMX track, north shore and skills park.

The plan incorporates nature and cycling trails to link new and existing facilities and a comprehensive planting program to restore natural areas and enhance tree canopy. The signature element of the 60 hectare ROC is a 33 metre high man-made hill that features a state of the art chalet, tube, terrain, ski and toboggan activities in winter, cycling in summer and fantastic views of the Lake Simcoe country side year round.
